30′ × 50′ Horse Barn
A horse barn framed in double leg tubular steel, with twelve-foot walls and 1,500 square feet of open floor.
What the building had to do
Thirty by fifty gives 1,500 square feet of floor with no posts across the thirty-foot width, under twelve-foot walls. Two 10′ × 10′ roll-up doors, an entry door and three windows go into the walls, and a 10′ × 20′ lean-to adds covered space outside the main building.
Why tubular
Tubular steel has the lowest installed price of the frames we supply, and at thirty feet wide this building sits well inside tubular’s sixty-foot range. Tubular is quoted installed, so the kit and the crew come as one number.
On a double leg frame, each column and rafter is built from two tubes instead of one, so the frame carries more load than a single-leg frame of the same size.
One footprint, many jobs. Thirty by fifty also shows up in our projects as a double leg shop with a lean-to, a shop with sixteen-foot walls and a barn with a lean-to. Same size, each set up for a different job.
