35′ × 45′ Farm Shop
A farm shop framed in ladder leg tubular steel, with twelve-foot walls and 1,575 square feet of open floor.
What the building had to do
Thirty-five by forty-five gives 1,575 square feet of floor with no posts across the thirty-five-foot width, under twelve-foot walls. The walls are framed for a 12′ × 12′ opening, three entry doors and three double-pane windows. A 12′ × 45′ lean-to runs the full length of the building, adding 540 square feet of covered space outside the main walls.
Why ladder leg tubular
Tubular steel has the lowest installed price of the frames we supply, and at thirty-five feet wide this building sits well inside tubular’s sixty-foot range. Tubular is quoted installed, so the kit and the crew come as one number.
Ladder leg framing builds each column and rafter as an open truss from the same tube stock, so it carries more span and more load than a solid leg of the same material.
Two farm shops, one frame. Our 36′ × 50′ farm shop is a close match in size and uses the same ladder leg tubular frame, without the lean-to.
